Community Corrections

Mission Statement

Henry County Community Corrections provides community supervision as an alternative to incarceration utilizing evidence based practices and data-driven programs to promote positive change in clients.

Vision Statement

Our vision is a safe community resting on positive relationships between criminal justice entities, human services agencies, service providers, and citizens.

Overview

Community Corrections provides a sentencing alternative to being placed in jail or prison. We provide a means of supervising offenders while keeping the public safe. The sentencing a person could receive may be, home detention, adult day reporting, or community service. We conduct Case Management driven programs that will provide the tools an individual can use to lead a productive life, and become a contributing member of society.

Unlike jail or prison, the cost of Community Corrections is provided by a State Grant and user fees. Individuals who are sentenced to Community Corrections pay their own way. In the fiscal year 2010 to 2011, Henry County Community Corrections saved the State of Indiana and Henry County in particular over 1.6 million dollars (the cost of incarceration)!
